The opera will be performed by soloists of the opera troupe and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the choir of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. The conductor is Valery Gergiev. Action one. The Jews pray that the Assyrian hordes besieging Jerusalem will be scattered and the wicked will not take the throne of David. The high priest Zacharias reports the hope of salvation: in the hands of the Jews, the youngest daughter of Nabucco, Fenen, who will be a precious pledge in negotiations with the king of Babylon. Ishmael brings news of the Nabucco offensive. Zacharias wants to entrust Ishmael with guarding Fenen, but it turns out that the young people love each other. Ishmael vows to release his beloved from captivity. At the head of the Babylonian warriors appears Abigail, the eldest daughter of Nabucco, who also loves Ishmael. Abigail proclaims the glory of Nabucco. Finally, the king of Babylon appears. Fenena rushes to her father, then to Ishmael, and then Zacharias manages to intercept her and carry a dagger over her. Nabucco is trying to buy time, but Abigail hopes that her rival sister will die. Suddenly Ishmael pulls the dagger from Zacharias and releases Fenen. The Assyrians immediately attack the vanquished. The Jews curse Ishmael. Action two. The wicked Nabucco again went with an army to Judea, leaving the throne to Fenene. Meanwhile, Abigail managed to obtain and destroy a document showing that she was not actually the daughter of Nabucco, but the daughter of slaves. The High Priest of Baal informs her that Fenena freed the captured Jews and that the conspirators had already spread the news of Nabucco’s death to proclaim Abigail Queen. Zechariah proclaims a new miracle of the God of Israel: Phenena, daughter of the king of Babylon, will accept the Jewish faith. The Levites again curse Ishmael, but Anna informs them that Fenenen, whom he saved, is now one of them, and therefore Ishmael is forgiven. Abdallo reports the death of Nabucco and urges Fenen to flee, but Fenena is not going to cede the throne to her sister. As Abigail tries to take her crown, Nabucco appears. The Assyrian warriors again swear allegiance to him. Nabucco orders the extermination of the Jews, and Fenena tries to protect them by declaring that she is also Jewish. Nabucco claims to be a god. Heaven punishes him by taking his mind away. The crown is in the hands of Abigail. Action three. Abigail's Triumph prophecy. Mad Nabucco appears. Abigail lures his sealed ring to seal the death sentence for the people of Israel. Nabucco understands that this means death for Fenena. Trying to save his own daughter, he reminds Abigail of her slave origin - in response, Abigail shows him the wreckage of a sign on which a record was made of her real parents. Nabucco is being taken into custody. In Babylonian captivity, Jews remember their lost homeland. Zechariah predicts the salvation of Israel and the destruction of Babylon. Action four. Locked in his chambers, Nabucco hears cries: “Death to Fenene!” In despair, he renounces the idols of Babylon and turns to the God of Israel. Abdallo, along with Nabucco loyal warriors, frees his king and returns the crown to him. Jews await execution. Nabucco appears and glorifies the God of Israel. Jews and Assyrians join him. Abigail drank the poison. When she dies, she asks for Fenenah’s forgiveness and turns to Jehovah.
