Dive into the past atmosphere of the artistic environment of Vladivostok at the end of the XX-early XXI centuries

Arka Gallery presents the second part of the art collection Vera and Sergey Glazkov. The private collection of the Glazkovs, numbering about 400 items of storage, was collected for thirty years and was an impressive result of their patronage and educational activities. >> This time, the viewer will be able to see works that were not included in the first exhibition. Among them there are foreign artists, with whose work in the two thousandth years the gallery actively introduced the residents of Primorye. So in the Glazkov collection appeared the works of Korean artist Choi Gwang Ok and American George Ummen, glorifying India, in which he was born. Many times Christine Steel came to Vladivostok from the Belgian city of Bruges, who not only held a solo exhibition in the “Arca”, but also managed to implement several joint projects with Vladivostok artists. The dream of Wolfram Kurzenberger from Germany to visit Vladivostok connected his life and death with our city.

The main part of the Glazkov collection consists of seaside authors, which, of course, are presented at the exhibition. It is interesting to look at the works of Yuri Sobchenko, Gennady Omelchenko, Svetlana Makovetskaya, always causing special feelings in the viewer. A special place in the exposition is occupied by the photo of Sergey Glazkov, who, in addition to being an entrepreneur and philanthropist, himself had an “artist’s eye” and perfectly shot. In addition, the exhibition presents current artists working in different styles and genres, from painting, graphics and photography to ceramics and sculpture.
