Although the postcards themselves are relatively recent, they accurately convey the aesthetics and visual language of wartime. Soviet posters of the war years were distinguished by a unique picturesque, expressive composition and powerful symbolism. Artists used rich colors, sharp contrasts and dynamic lines, creating the effect of movement and call to action.
