Tourist and Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) took an active part in the event - "Professionality Day", which was held on Saturday, July 20, at the site of Vladivostok State University.
Opportunities and practices in the Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) during the event were presented by employees of the tourist and information department. High school students and future students were interested in the features and opportunities of working in the tourism industry and hospitality. The most frequently asked questions related to the functionality of the employee of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye), as well as the availability of certain skills: what the applicant should know and what the applicant should be able to work in the tourist information center. After all, in addition to informing tourists and providing them with up-to-date information about sights, events, infrastructure of Vladivostok and Primorsky Krai, a specialist of the tourist information center should be able to help guests solve issues of accommodation, food, logistics, transport and excursions. To work in the tourism industry, the guys are now showing great interest. Work is characterized by creativity, the ability to communicate, gives a sense of drive, and sometimes adrenaline. In addition, the tourist flow is growing, guests from different parts of Russia go to Primorye. And against this background, it is very important to tell and promote the variety of recreation opportunities in the region. Of course, such educational events help us to popularize the tourist potential of the region and motivate young people not only to enter the profession associated with tourism, but also to study the history of their native land, its natural attractions, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
At the site of the "Day of Professionalism" visitors could take part in the interactive from the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). More than 20 people took part in the quiz of 10 questions. The average age of the participants was 18 years. Most of them are entrants who enter the university this year and are set to receive higher education in the field of tourism and hospitality. Also, participants in the quiz were high school students who are still in search and “try on” a particular specialty. The greatest difficulty was caused by questions about the origin of the names of historical sights of Vladivostok. The best result was shown by the guys who this year are going to enter the direction of "Tourism".
"Professionality Day is an opportunity to meet and communicate on one platform future specialists of the tourism industry and current employers of the tourism industry.
