The basics of a new profession comprehend young guides

A new stream of training "School of the young guide" started last month. For the sixth time, students take a career guidance course, classes are held once a week on Sundays. The duration of one lesson is from 1.5 to 2 hours. The organizer of the School is the Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) with the support of The Ministry of Tourism of Primorsky Krai. 

In the first stage of training, students will learn about the basics of the profession. Lectures are conducted by the staff of the tourist and information department of the Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) together with the training partner - the children's club for children and adolescents "Timurovets". In total, 15 people aged 14 to 17 years became participants in the sixth stream. Students have already figured out how to memorize a large amount of information, collect cards of display objects and interact with the audience. " We understand the audience with which we work, and in the first month we decided to gradually immerse our young listeners in the world of sightseeing. The lively interest of children gives inspiration to carefully study current topics and adapt them to our listeners. A large number of questions and interesting clarifications have become an opportunity for us to change the training program, now we devote time to independent training on additional materials that we provide them, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory. Lecturers will be invited speakers, leading practitioners of the tourism industry and current tour guides. Graduation at the listeners of the new stream of the School of the Young Guide will be held in March 2025. 

On the project: "School of the Young Guide" is a social project for children aimed at teaching schoolchildren the basics of excursion studies. The school helps children to better understand the profession of a guide and develop the skills of excursion studies. The project provides an opportunity not only to increase the professional self-determination of the project participants, but also to form an idea of the Primorsky Territory as a region with a rich, eventful and rich history and unique cultural traditions. More than 100 people have successfully completed the School on five streams.
