Warm autumn extended the velvet season of 2024 and opened up new travel destinations. In September, the interest of Russians in the Far East increased significantly – the tourist flow increased by 25%. The Primorsky Territory accounted for almost a fourth of the travelers inspired by the Far Eastern romance.

The abnormally warm September actually gave the Russians an additional month of summer. Residents of our country decided not to miss the opportunity to bask in the sun longer, as well as explore atypical tourist routes.

In September, the interest of domestic tourists to the Far East increased significantly. Its popularity increased by 25% compared to the same period of the previous year. The most popular region in this direction was Primorsky Krai, which received almost a quarter (23%) of tourists. Vladivostok was the main attraction not only for tourists – in September, the city hosted the Eastern Economic Forum. This is evidenced by the results of a joint study by MegaFon and the Corporation Tourism.RF.

In addition, a significant number of Russians visited the Trans-Baikal Territory (15%) and the Amur Region (14%), including for work purposes. At the same time, tourists began to actively use mobile communication during trips. So in the Far East in September of this year, 72% more gigabytes of traffic were spent than last year, and voice traffic increased by 22%. In Vladivostok, data traffic generated by travelers has increased by 70%, they spend 35% more time talking. Constant analysis of preferences of Russians in trips, including on the basis of anonymized data of mobile users about trips, allows operators of the tourist market to more accurately predict demand in certain destinations. According to the Tourism.RF Corporation, the particularly active development of guest infrastructure is now observed in the Primorsky Krai.
