For a whole month, volunteers of the Striped Navigator project go on routes, communicate with tourists, consult guests and residents of the city and collect the geography of travelers with requests and consultations. The launch of volunteer walks this year began on July 12. At the moment, there are more than 20 volunteers in the arsenal of active volunteers who go on routes every weekend, and sometimes try to do it on weekdays. In total, for the first month of work of the tourist and volunteer project "Striped Navigator" 1,122 people received assistance and consulting services. " I like to work with people who come and discover our city. This year a large flow of guests, both Russians and foreign travelers. The latter treat us with special warmth, are photographed and are always happy to receive booklets in their language. We help tourists from Russia to supplement and expand their plan of stay in Primorye, tell and advise where you can go, said Galina Perfileva, a volunteer of the season-2024
Volunteer routes this year include several main directions: pedestrian street on Fokina, central square, Ship Embankment, Embankment of Tsesarevich and Embankment of Sports Harbor. During the walk, tourists are not attached to one location and can include several points of attraction in the walk. Each volunteer has a backpack with the necessary printing in the set: city maps, information on excursion programs and other recreational areas in the region.

According to volunteers, guests from various regions of Russia get acquainted with Vladivostok this summer. On the streets and excursions you can meet representatives of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk, there are guests from the Urals and Kuzbass, tourists from Bashkiria and Ingushetia. Foreign tourists who received advice from “striped” volunteers were guests from China, Vietnam, South Korea and Panama. The trip of the Panamanians to another continent thousands of kilometers away was unique. Six tourists arrived in Primorye by train, having traveled virtually across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway. The unofficial leader of this small group was a Russian-speaking Panamanian. More than 30 years ago, he studied Russian in Moscow at Moscow State University, and this trip allowed him to remember his youth, refresh the language and help his compatriots overcome the language barrier in communicating with locals.

"We have been preparing for the launch of the project since February and are glad that now there is such a great response from guests and residents of our city. We have almost a month of fruitful work ahead. We will also work on routes, advise our guests and help to reveal the tourist potential of Primorsky Krai. We already have plans: we are starting preparations for the new, already   sixth season of the volunteer project "Striped Navigator", - said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
