> For the New Year holidays from December 28 to January 9, Vladivostok was visited by 1,616 tourists from China in groups without visas. Nearly 39%, or about 630, chose to fly from Harbin and Beijing, mostly from the southern provinces. The rest arrived in Primorye through road checkpoints. The main burden fell on Kraskino. Everyone went to Vladivostok for three days and two nights.
Almost 130 guests from the six provinces of China - Heilongjiang, Guangxi, Sichuan, Liaoning, Hunan, Shandong - came to Vladivostok to participate in the annual cold swimming competitions. In addition to the starts, the guests were organized a non-boring warm-up, performances of creative teams, field kitchen and introductory excursions within the framework of the local history festival from the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) "Winter by the Sea" (0+). By the way, one of the Chinese athletes goes to Vladivostok every winter and willingly agitates his compatriots on these trips. Despite the New Year holidays, there were few families with children. But the adults were well aware of where and why they were going. They wanted to feel the atmosphere of the holiday of the Russian city, when the lights of the tree flashes, and Santa Claus agitates in the dance. Therefore, everyone in the program had walks around the city, visiting the main popular places among Chinese tourists: visit where they filmed Chinese cinema, see the “loneliest” lighthouse, assess the military capabilities on the S-56 boat. Many celebrated the New Year in the square, tested the slide, took a lot of selfies on the local “Arbat” and walked around the city. For them, Vladivostok is a small city where you can walk slowly, look at the shops, and the price-quality ratio does not cause complaints.
According to the host travel companies, there was no obvious shopping on New Year’s Days. If you bought it, it is more about small things, mainly preferring chocolate and other delicious things. For many travel companies, a visit to the Central shopping center is inscribed in the program of visiting Vladivostok.
