One of the most picturesque and cleanest beaches of Vladivostok will welcome tourists from June 15. The territory of the Far Eastern Marine Reserve on Popov Island is prepared for eco-tourism: everything necessary for a comfortable and cognitive rest without harm to nature appeared in the Border Bay. The southern section of Popova Island, including the picturesque western part of the Border Bay, has been part of the Far Eastern Marine Reserve for more than 45 years (under the management of the Land of the Leopard Directorate). The visit is strictly controlled to reduce anthropogenic load and preserve the local nature, so that there are no cars and debris - unlike other parts of the coastline. A visit is possible when purchasing a ticket. No traffic allowed. By the official beginning of the swimming season in Vladivostok, the Directorate of the Land of the Leopard Reserves on the coastal section of the Border Bay has equipped locker rooms, showers, picnic areas, a toilet and garbage cans. There is a large information shield with a detailed description of the oldest marine reserve in Russia. You can buy a ticket to visit the reserve directly at the beach.

" On the azure shore of the Bay of the Border, the atmosphere of a secluded paradise reigns, it is not just a beach, but a protected corner where the harmony of virgin nature reigns. Guests of the reserve leave behind the noise of civilization and plunge into a world of peace and quiet. There's no room for car noise. You can admire nature or go hiking along the trails that lead to the hidden corners of the island, which offer panoramic views of the capes. An island botanical garden is available at Cape Likandera. This is an oasis of calm, where you can find inspiration, find harmony with yourself and the world, said Victoria Khazova, Deputy Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Land of the Leopard” for tourism and recreation.

At the same time, visiting the protected part of the Border Bay is free for local residents: citizens registered in the village of Popova (Vladivostok urban district, Primorsky Krai) are included in the list of preferential categories of citizens. The Far Eastern Marine Biosphere Reserve was established in 1978 to preserve the natural environment of Peter the Great Bay, the richest marine and island flora and fauna in Russia. This is the country's first marine reserve. In 2003, the territory received the status of a biosphere reserve. Since 2021, it has been managed by the Directorate of the Land of the Leopard Reserves.
