Thematic excursions dedicated to the Day of the end of the Second World War were held in Primorye on September 6. Routes passed not only in Vladivostok, but also in some municipalities of the region. More than 160 people showed interest in the history of the region and took part in the events organized by the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorsky Territory.
We are sincerely admiring the resilience and enthusiasm of our tourists! Despite the vagaries of the weather, no one was afraid of the rain, and all excursions dedicated to the Day of the end of the Second World War were held at a high level. This fact speaks of the deep respect of residents and guests of the city for the history of our country and readiness to honor the memory of heroes, regardless of circumstances. We are glad that we were able to offer such diverse and meaningful routes, and we are grateful to guides for their professionalism and dedication, said Anastasia Povetkina, deputy head of the tourist and information department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye)..
The memory of the heroes was reflected in excursions around Vladivostok. Elena Smirnova conducted excursions through the streets of Pervomaisky district, where each name is a reminder of the feat of young people such as Oleg Kosheva and Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. Tatiana Nikitchenko introduced tourists to the Snegovaya Pad neighborhood, telling about outstanding personalities whose names are immortalized in the names of its streets. Alexander Pritchin in the Museum of the Sea conducted a tour dedicated to the memory of the flight crew who fought with Japan in the Second World War. Nadezhda Sirenko’s excursion for the Vladivostok Society of the Blind took place in Gaydamak Square and was dedicated to the battles against Japan in 1945.
The theme of World War II and its heroes continued on other routes and on other excursions. Lyudmila Vaganova-Vilkins took a tour of Richard Sorge Square and the Katyusha Monument, revealing the secrets of the life of the famous scout and the history of the creation of her favorite song. Lyudmila Volkova immersed the participants in the atmosphere of the border city, the basis of her story is the feat of border guard Peter Ovchinnikov and the fate of the heroes of the song “Katyusha”. Galina Zimina conducted thematic excursions around Vladivostok, dedicated to the Soviet-Japanese war, telling about the participants of the Kuril and Seisin operations.
Military history of Primorye was also presented in the districts of the Primorsky Territory. Konstantin Kravchenko led tourists to the key places of the garrison in the village of Winter South (Nadezhdinsky MO), recalling the heroes who stood on the defense of the air borders of Primorye during the Great Patriotic War and the war with Japan. Raisa Petrovicheva conducted a unique excursion to ZATO in Fokino, devoting it to the 355th Marine Battalion of the Pacific Fleet, based here in 1945. The tour guide shared stories about the participation of the battalion in the Seishin operation to liberate North Korea, emphasizing the importance of the contribution of sailors to the overall victory.
Each of these excursions became a vivid evidence that the memory of the war is alive in the hearts of Primorsky residents. Tour guides, passionate about their work, managed to convey the spirit of the era and inspire participants to further study the history of their native land.
