By 2030, the number of rooms of Primorye will increase by 10 thousand year-round rooms

The Ministry of Economic Development estimated the potential of tourism in Russia at 140 million trips by 2030. What share is Primorsky Krai ready to take, and what needs to be done to increase the volumes and fully reveal the potential of the tourism industry? 

"I will not be engaged in purposeful and conscious divination by the number of visits and tourist flow. But we have an understanding: the region is now experiencing a shortage of tourist resources, and above all, the number of rooms. Today, the demand for tourist services far exceeds the supply. We cannot escape the laws of economics. As soon as we have more hotels, more museums, more restaurants, more oceanariums, and maybe even a water park, when tourists choose “here I want, and here I don’t want”, using the principle of “here the conditions are better, and the price is less”, then I am sure that the fight will begin for the guest, for the tourist. Now we have a fight for the tourist for the resource. Hence, the conditions are appropriate, said Arseny Krepsky, head of the Primorsky Territory Tourism Agency, during the round table of RBC National Project.

Tourism and the hospitality industry. According to the head of the department, by 2030 the region intends to increase the number of rooms by 10 thousand year-round rooms. This is the task that the region has set itself. For comparison: in 2023 alone, this figure grew by 1,100 rooms and amounted to almost 33.5 thousand rooms by the end of the year. With what resources will growth be possible? For example, the sea-round resort will give about 3,800 rooms. The number of rooms will increase due to various investment projects, including in the Primorye IRC, on Russky Island, in the Cove of Lazurnaya, recreation centers, etc. " What I am sure of is that everything that happens in tourism is in line with the laws of economics: we are attractive to tourists and investors alike. And these are the signals that no one will leave without attention, said Arseny Kropy.

Guests will definitely come to Primorye. They will rest, get impressions, spend money, contributing to the development of the tourism industry and bringing income. And since the region is interesting for recreation, for travel, it means that it is also interesting for investors. Therefore, those who are ready to invest in the tourism industry will come to the region. Revenues will be circulated and, ultimately, there will be revenues to the budget of the Primorsky Territory, which will create conditions and an opportunity for further development of the region.
