Video contest “Vladivostok – 165 years”: the love of the city won

Vladivostok turned 165. It's a young age for the city. But despite its youth, the Far Eastern capital has left a noticeable mark in politics, economy, tourism and the biography of both locals and tourists. Everyone has their own views, opinions, impressions. And you could talk about your attitude to the city from the screen, presenting a video dedicated to Vladivostok to the competition. The results of the competition were summed up exactly during the celebration of the anniversary date.

The initiator and organizer of the project was the Primorsky regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society - the Society for the Study of the Amur Territory with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorsky Territory, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorye (Visit Primorye), as well as the working group "Tumangan Way" and the tour operator "New Century"

The competition was held from March 1 to July 2, 2025. Thanks to the project, many were able to show interest in the history of the city and show their talents.The genre of the video was chosen by the contestants themselves: it could be a reportage, an interview, a small documentary or another, but the presence of the participant in the frame is mandatory. The video itself had to be entertaining, authentic and vivid.

A total of 73 works were submitted, 13 of them were the result of collective creativity. Here, the guys of Vladivostok universities united their creative ideas: VVSU, FEFU, Dalrybvtuz and Moscow State University. Age of participants from 14 years and up to 60+. The works were presented in five nominations. The most popular and popular was the nomination “Vladivostok – historical”: 50 videos were presented in it.

And patriotism unites all those who love their homeland, who are interested in its history.
