Ice and stone: Vladivostok now has its own house with ice

In Vladivostok in early September, the curling center “House with Ice” opened its doors. The complex is located on Tyumenskaya hill in the Nagorny Park (Tyumenskaya Street, 18). This is the first curling center in Vladivostok and the entire Far East.

House with Ice is an urban sports complex, a training base for young athletes, Russian curling teams, as well as a venue for major sports competitions. The ice arena of the center was created as an element of the project for the development of the territory of the Tyumen hill, the Nagorny Park and part of the large tourist route of Vladivostok.

The Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) organized an excursion to the complex for students of the 5G class of the MBOU "SOSH No6" (New, Nadezhdinsky District): schoolchildren were waiting for a story about curling as an Olympic sport, as well as a two-hour training. At the beginning of the training, the children were waiting for a detailed briefing: what the equipment is called and how to use it correctly, what clothes and shoes should be and, of course, discussed the rules of the game. Do not forget about the mandatory warm-up!

For the game, the students split into 4 teams, the training was held under the close attention of the master of sports and curling coach Pavel Mishin. 

"House with ice" is a technically well-equipped playground, there are 5 tracks specifically for professional curling. I have been working as a coach for 6-7 years and I see the potential for this sport in many children. I enjoyed today's event. I saw children’s interest, there were a lot of questions, Pavel Mishin shared his thoughts.

According to the class teacher of the 5G class Tatyana Pugacheva, the children were delighted, in the beginning some were a little upset, which did not work out, but then they learned, and they became very interesting. " We often try to take schoolchildren on various excursions around the city and the region. Were, for example, in the Arsenyev Museum, riding horses, swimming in a hot pool. I really want to take kids to the waterfalls. Never heard of the curling center in Vladivostok, we are very glad that they got here. When they first arrived here, the children immediately began to ask about a snack, and how to play – they instantly forgot, added the class teacher .

 

The students noted that they would definitely tell their parents about the new curling center, and even better: they would come to the complex with the whole family on the New Year holidays. In the curling center "House with ice" is always good weather for the game!

By the way, in November of this year, the Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) together with the curling center "House with ice" held a familiarization tour for tour operators of Primorsky Krai with the complex as a new tourist attraction. Some of the tour operators have already developed excursion routes around the city, including a visit to the curling center.
