In September, the capital of the Far East will plunge into a light film festival atmosphere - guests and residents of Vladivostok are invited to attend film screenings, an exhibition, lectures and master classes, as well as the all-Russian premiere of the film shot in Vladivostok. "Meridians of the Quiet" - a special project from the organizers of the famous film festival. 

"We'll meet as planned. We will spend warm autumn evenings full of soulful meetings, pleasant conversations about cinema and meanings, watch films in the open air. Together we will plunge into memories of the amazing history of the seaside film festival, which is more than 20 years old. We invite everyone to join, the entrance to the venues will be free, said the organizers - Executive Director of the film festival Natalia Shakhnazarova and Program Director Yuri Goncharov.

The first "festival meetings" will be held within the framework of the IX Eastern Economic Forum from 3 to 6 September. With the support of the FESCO Transportation Group, the Pacific Meridians team will present the best films shot in the Russian Far East at the international forum. On the street of the Far East in the pavilion of the Vladivostok commercial seaport, films will be free to watch the participants and guests of the forum, as well as citizens - on the days of an open visit to the university embankment on September 7 and 8. 

Further in Vladivostok, a whole week of "Meridian" events will come. 

On Friday evening, September 13, the cinema "Ocean IMAX" will premiere the film "9 seconds" directed by Oleg Strom. The film will be presented by producers Yuri Obukhov and Alexei Ryazantsev, as well as actors Bato Shoinjonov and Dmitry Pevtsov.The military-patriotic drama “9 seconds” was filmed in Vladivostok and is based on the real feat of the 19-year-old sailor of the Pacific Fleet Aldar Tsydenzhapov, who in 2010 thanks to his courage saved 348 crew members of the legendary destroyer “Fast”. It is noteworthy that the film received a rebate from the government of the Primorsky Krai (subsidy for reimbursement of part of the funds spent on film production - author's note) 

From September 13 to September 21, the exhibition "Meridians" will be held in the gallery "Arka". Event”. The unique exposition will tell you how the world-famous film festival Pacific Meridian was born; how it gradually became an integral part of the life of the city and its residents.

From September 14 to 16, in the public space of the Tretyakov Gallery on Aleutskaya, 15 creative events will be held on the theme "Artist in the cinema."

Three evenings in a row, from September 14 to 16, in the park named after Yul Brynner, film screenings, previously planned within the framework of the festival programs “Made in Vladivostok” and “Made in the Far East”. More than 20 films were selected for screening at the traditional venue of the film festival in Yul Brynner Square. We hope that the audience will be interested in seeing the work of local filmmakers. Some works are already in the Russian box office, and some take awards at major international film festivals. The filmmakers will be able to meet on the site and personally discuss their ideas and achievements, the organizers say.

Vladivostok needs professional events that will contribute to the formation and development of the regional community of film lovers and filmmakers, as well as show that the development of the film industry is an important and promising socio-economic vector for the development of the Russian Far East. The film festival has always reminded about this, the directorate of the IFF said.
