More than 850 servings of fried smelt were prepared at the regional festival "Folk fishing-2024". Gambling fishing, tasty food, good mood and help to the participants of the SVO celebrated the Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23 in Vladivostok.

Folk fishing has been held in Vladivostok for 12 years, it involves both beginners and professionals, go by family, travel from other areas of the region. Recently, the program has become more diverse due to the gastronomic component. This year, due to the unstable ice situation, the organizers changed the place of fishing: from the Amur Bay to Novik Bay. The change of place did not darken the mood. Fishermen competed for the largest catch and showed high speed when drilling holes. There was something to fight for: prizes were at stake - boats with a motor and a huge TV. And then the holiday continued on the embankment of Sports Harbor.

The gastronomic component set the tone. In the mangal area, the cooks prepared "fry". Representatives of 13 Vladivostok restaurants performed at the plates: Zuma, Supra, Laffa, Omlet Station, Tbilissimo, Milk and Honey, UMAMI, Singapura, Tokyo, Millionka, Crust, Cantina and MORE Seafood bar. No frills, everything is simple, fast, but very tasty. Light frost and fresh air added mood to everyone: the cooks themselves and the guests of the event. Representatives of the catering service stressed that they are always happy to respond to the invitation of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) to participate in such festivals when you feel unity with colleagues, with visitors to the site, when the mood is massively created. They willingly shared their impressions, noting that fresh fish cooked in light frost by masters of Far Eastern cuisine is the highest “pilotage”. The chefs worked non-stop. It took 274 kilograms of smelt to roast.

The cost of one serving is 50 rubles. But it is not the money, but the concern of citizens: after all, all the proceeds are aimed at supporting the defenders of the Motherland. In Primorye, children write letters to SVO fighters, volunteers sew and knit, entrepreneurs ensure the purchase of necessary things and provide logistics. The tourism industry also contributes. All participants of the mangal zone, guests of the event are ready to support the soldiers of the SVO both morally and financially. We immediately transferred the proceeds from the sale of smelt to the seaside branch of the Popular Front to help our countrymen who are on the frontline, said Vitaly Stanislavchuk, Head of the Programs and Analytics Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory. In parallel, master classes and tastings were held.

Here reigned not only gastronomic, but also family atmosphere. It's the Year of the Family on the calendar. The program includes three master classes, each of which was attended by 10 families. The chefs of the network of Georgian houses "Supra", the network of Korean cuisine "Mirine" and the restaurant "Laffa" in the place with their "students" prepared simple dishes based on seafood: chkmeruli with scallop, soup Sensontige and pollock. Under the strict guidance of ambassadors of the Far Eastern cuisine, moms and dads, grandmothers and grandchildren cashed. Also on the embankment unfolded thematic areas, quizzes, children's sports, performances of creative teams and worked photo zones. The event was organized by the Fishing Federation and the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye), the Ministry of Sports of the Primorsky Territory, the Tourism Agency of the Primorsky Territory, the Ministry of Culture and Archival Affairs of the Primorsky Territory. The material was prepared by the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
