Night of Museums gives Vladivostok “Dreams of Siberia”
A fascinating journey through time and space in the format of dreams. An immersive project combining archaeology, modern art and advanced exposition technologies. This is about new exhibition "Dreams of Siberia" (0+), opened in the Main building of the Museum-Reserve of the History of the Far East named after V.K. Arsenyev.
The exhibition presents amazing artifacts and rare archaeological finds collected from the 13 museum of the country. The exposition allows you to see a vivid picture of the ancient history and culture of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East. The image of a huge and still little-known region is captured in ancient plastic and sculpture, rock art and modern art objects, the author of which is a popular Russian sculptor, artist, designer Dashi Namdakov. Unusual architecture, lighting, sound design and, most importantly, the ability to touch, study all exhibits with your hands: archaeological finds here coexist with tactile copies, can cause interest among visitors of all ages. It is worth noting that the exhibition “Dreams of Siberia”, “born” by the Tavolga Foundation for the Development of Science and Culture in 2022, was first presented in the State Historical Museum and received a great response both among the museum and scientific community and among the audience. At the opening ceremony of the exhibition in Vladivostok, Marina Bondareva, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, noted that the successful presentation of the project in Moscow inspired the organizers to continue it and expressed gratitude for the cooperation addressed to the employees of the Arsenyev Museum and colleagues from other Russian museums who became co-authors of the project. " At the exhibition are artifacts with which people who lived before us interacted. It is absolutely certain that these most valuable objects are able to talk, to convey some meaning. The problem is, they say to professionals, not everyone is allowed to hear them. Our exhibition helps each viewer to create a dialogue with history. Everyone: both a child and an academician, she stressed.
According to the head of the fund, it was especially important to bring the project to the museum, which bears the name of the famous researcher of the Far East Vladimir Arsenyev.
" This story is not about distant exotic lands, which Siberia and the Far East seem to the inhabitant of the European part of Russia, but about the native land for the indigenous people, reflected, among other things, in familiar images, but seen and interpreted differently. And for the staff of the Arsenyev Museum, this is also the main topic of research. I hope that the exhibition will find a response from Primorye. And the current experience of cooperation between the foundation and the museum will continue, commented Marina Bondarenko.
Symbolically, "Dreams of Siberia" came to Vladivostok The material and photos were prepared and provided by the press service of the State United Museum-Reserve of History Far East named after V.K. Arsenyev.
