Who are you, "Comrade Kostya"? "Street." Square. Hero" - "This is the name of the exhibition that opened in the House of the Sukhanov family. It is timed to the birthday of Konstantin Sukhanov, one of the first fighters for the power of the Soviets in the Far East, who was born 130 years ago, in March 1894.
Konstantin is a representative of the large Sukhanov family, whose head - Alexander Vasilyevich, being the vice-governor of the Primorsky region, actually led it, made a huge contribution to the development and prosperity of this territory. However, the youngest Sukhanov in Soviet times was a key figure of the family. It was his active revolutionary activity, including as chairman of the Soviet of Soldiers’ and Workers’ Deputies at the very beginning of the civil war and intervention, his tragic death in the name of the ideals of the new world that entered the history of Vladivostok and became the reason for the inclusion of the Sukhanovs’ name in the toponymy of the city. The street, the square is familiar to many citizens. But how many of the youth know who Konstantin Sukhanov is? Immediately there is an image of a minted Bolshevik, “Danko of the young Soviet power”, at the age of 23, who assumed responsibility for Vladivostok and the surrounding area. He died at 24, defending his principles and dignity. His biography is well known from Soviet literature – there is extensive literature about Konstantin Sukhanov. But all these are stories about the correct Soviet man, past the internal censorship of people who loved Constantine, and the external censorship of ideology. According to the director of the branch of the Museum-Reserve of the History of the Far East named after V.K. Arsenyev Olga Gutmann, the exhibition in the House of the Sukhanov Family is a story about the other side of the life of the hero of the revolution.
"Memorial objects that personally belonged to the younger representative of a large family were unfortunately few, and the more valuable they are. Visitors will see the original letters that the hero sent to the family from the fateful camp imprisonment. These letters are not slogans, but the words of a living person, his jokes and dreams, the blood of his heart. The little that allows us to recognize Konstantin the man, and not Sukhanov the hero of the revolution from the pages of textbooks, says Olga. In addition to the new exhibition, curatorial lectures "Comrade Kostya" are organized.
They are held by appointment. The address of the House of the Sukhanov family is 9 Sukhanov str. Phone: 8 (423)243 28 54.
