About exploits, about valor, about glory: in Vladivostok, significant dates of June were marked with a series of excursions

A series of thematic excursions dedicated to the Year of Memory and Glory, the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, as well as continuing the program of events in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, was held in Vladivostok on June 22.
The project of free excursions organized by the Tourist Information Center of the Primorye (Visit Primorye) together with the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorsky Territory, is successfully implemented from 2018. All walking walks and lectures were held with the participation of professional guides of the section of local history and excursion studies of the Primorsky regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society - the Society for the Study of the Amur Region (PKO RGO-OIAC).

Of particular interest was the story about the midday shot and other little-known facts from the life of the port city."Excursions in local history play an important role in the formation of people's deep understanding of the history, culture and nature of their region. They help not only to expand knowledge about local history and sights, but also develop patriotism, pride in their small homeland, and contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage. Conducting such excursions contributes to strengthening the connection of a person with his native land, forms respect for the environment and stimulates interest in the study of history and nature. In the modern world, when many aspects of life are becoming global, it is important to preserve and transfer knowledge about your region for future generations, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
Hidden tour "Secrets of the Underground Hill"
Excursor Philippe Vasilyevich Popov, a member of the section of local studies and excursion studies of the PKO RGO-OIAC, introduced visitors to the history of the special facility No. 1 of the Great Patriotic War. The participants saw the preserved buildings and structures associated with this complex, and learned about its role in protecting the city from a potential threat.
Peacewalk tour "The Border on the Castle: It Was, Is and Will Be"
Excursor Olga Nikolaevna Kuzmenko introduced the participants along the route from the Golden Bridge to the Tsarevich Embankment with the exploits of Pacific sailors, whose names are forever in the history of Vladivostok.
Four excursion programs gathered a total of more than 100 participants - residents and guests of the city, with the average attendance of each excursion was 27 people.
