Any profession is a reason for creativity. It is important both the presence of knowledge in a particular field, and the ability to create, create, embody.
This was discussed at a gastronomic lesson with eighth graders from Vladivostok school No. 51. The “speaker” was the chef of the coffee chain Coffee Machine. They were told about the barista profession. By the way, the work of a barista is a great start if you have a dream of your institution. Seeing how things work from the inside is always helpful. And during the lesson, many questions were answered: how to choose a drink, how to serve, where to study this profession, if something is in common with the work of sommelier and perfumer, is it necessary to be able to draw, etc. And during the lesson, students learned the secrets of making smoothies and lemonade, experimented with different tastes and tasted their own drinks. The rules of serving the table, the order of serving dishes, the purpose of cutlery with eighth graders was shared by a student of the 4th year of the International Institute of Environment and Tourism of VVSU Navruzova Zakhro Askar Kizi.
It is worth noting that this is not the first such lesson in this school. The last master class was devoted to the preparation of rolls. And yet, again interesting, promising and friendly. Impressions were not long in coming: “It was interesting to hear about how to properly balance the tastes to make it taste good.” I am now thinking about the barista profession. About the table setting and rules for the use of objects, food culture even thought. No way. Now let's make a real splash! “I want to repeat these lessons, but just to prepare something solid.”
“I think these workshops are very important. First, we are a multicultural and multicultural country. Secondly, it is a great career guidance. Maybe someone first thinks about a part-time job, and then maybe become a chef or a cool barista. It's relevant today. I would like these lessons to continue and we can continue to participate in them. Thank you very much for setting the tables. It doesn’t seem that important, and it’s rarely used anywhere, but it’s actually helpful to know. There have been cases when I got to an event, and there are a lot of devices on the table and you can not navigate, you get lost from ignorance. No sooner had the lesson ended than questions began to be raised about new lessons, there were those interested in other classes. Anyway, word of mouth worked. And the number of those who want to get acquainted with the profession of a cook and barista, with the organization of the restaurant, to learn interesting features of the Far Eastern cuisine, has grown, says Daria Onisich, a teacher of school No. 51.
A drop of excitement in the lesson made a small quiz, which was held among the participants by the chef Coffee Machine. The students had to answer simple questions about the coffee chain. There were no winners, everyone won, the guys received not only sweet prizes, but also new knowledge. The organizers of the project: Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye), Agency for Tourism of Primorsky Krai, Department of Education of Vladivostok. The project continues its procession through the schools of the city this year. Gastronomy lessons in the schools of the Far Eastern capital are held within the framework of the Year of the Family, announced by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for 2024.
