Natural attractions of Russky Island

The main points of attraction are capes, bays and observation decks with stunning views of the Sea of Japan. In good weather, both locals and guests of the region come here.

   Cape Tobizin is one of the most popular destinations. Walking along the trail through the hills leads to rocky shores and a spit connecting Russky Island with Skota Island. Here you can take great photos and watch the sea birds.
   Cape Vyatlin is a place with steep cliffs and an open view of the sea horizon. People come here for solitude and walks.
●   Babkin Bay is a quiet place for picnics and walks along the coast. Known for its green slopes and gentle coast.
●   Mount of Russians (or Russian Mountain) is one of the highest points of the island. The climb will take about an hour, but the views from the top are worth the time.

Cultural and historical sites of the island

Russian Island is not only nature, but also an interesting history. There are cultural objects, as well as defensive structures of the late XIX - early XX century, which can be visited independently or with a guide.

●    Novosiltsev battery and Pospelov Fort - parts of the Vladivostok fortress. Massive concrete structures have survived to this day and attract fans of military history.
     Voroshilov battery — well-preserved monument of the Soviet fortification. There's a museum inside.
     Svyato-Serafimovskiy Monastery is an operating a monastery, where pilgrims and tourists come.
    Far Eastern Federal University and its University promenade is a modern campus with a large area. Excellent place for walking and recreation.
●    Primorsky Aquarium is a large scientific and educational center with marine life from around the world. A good option for traveling with children.

How to get to Russky Island from Vladivostok

The island is connected to the mainland by the Russian Bridge, so it will not be difficult to get there.

   On the bus: routes No 1, 15, 29, 63, 74, 75, 76, 77 follow from the center, from the Lugovoi and the Second River to stops on the island. They pass through the FEFU campus, the Primorsky Oceanarium and the nearest bays.
●   By car: from the city center - about 30 minutes on the way. The road passes along the Russian Bridge - the longest cable-stayed bridge in Russia.
●     By taxi or car sharing: convenient if you plan to visit several locations. Mobile and GPS services work well on the island.
 

There are parking lots near tourist spots, but in high season they fill up quickly.
