In Vladivostok, the international competitions in under-ice orientation UNDERICE GAME began. The current anniversary is the tenth. Athletes from six countries participate: Russia, the People’s Republic of China, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia and Egypt. Only 21 participants. Competitions are held on February 24 and 25. During the opening ceremony, the official representative of the UAE naval forces Mohamed Obaid Mubarak Obaid Alteneici presented the mayor of Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov with the official sign of friendship between the UAE and the Far Eastern capital. The Ambassador of UNDERICE GAMES was again an athlete from Egypt and the winner of the Guinness record for the deepest dive (332 m) Ahmed Gabr. This is his fifth visit to the Golden Horn. It should be noted that the head of the Tourism Agency Arseniy Krepsky has repeatedly stressed that Primorye has all the opportunities for the development of diving. And not only in the summer, but also in the winter. And UNDERICE GAME is proof of that. Winter diving, ice diving is an adventure filled with extreme and adrenaline for both participants and spectators. And this kind of sport, extreme recreation has a huge potential for the development of tourism throughout the region. Ice diving attracts not only participants but also spectators. We have to solve the problem of making ice diving a popular, affordable tourist attraction to Vladivostok. It's an unreal feeling. There is confidence that the number of participants will only increase, said Arseniy Krepsky. The International Ice Games are the only competitions in the world in the discipline “Ice Orientation”. Over 10 years, more than 250 divers from different countries have already taken part in them. The water temperature is 2 ° C, as in the Arctic.
