The strips that went on the routes went in the following directions: Central Square, the pedestrian part of Admiral Fokin Street (Primorsky Arbat) and the embankment of Tsesarevich. Everyone had a backpack with information booklets: from maps of the city and the region in English and Chinese to offers for excursions and recreation options from partners of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
Among the volunteers there were many tourists from the Far East, as well as guests from other regions of Russia (Ingushetia, Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Irkutsk region and other subjects). As always, the “strips” were very popular among guests from China. Joint photos for the memory and “five” volunteers have become a familiar ritual that Chinese tourists repeat when meeting with the assistants of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
Before the launch of the Striped Navigator project, part of the volunteers took part in the first semi-final of the Masters of Hospitality project of the presidential platform Russia – the Land of Opportunities. They interacted with participants, experts and guests of the semifinals and helped in the organization.
We have been working since February to train volunteers as one of the symbols of hospitality of our city. For our part, we organize training courses for them and provide everything necessary for comfortable work. It is nice that today both new participants of the project and our experienced “strips” have entered the routes. Volunteers’ work on the routes is always reliable and high-quality information and comfortable conditions for exploring Vladivostok, said Anastasia Povetkina, deputy head of the tourist and information department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
About the project: Striped Navigators is a city mobile tourist and information service with the involvement of volunteers to provide free information support to tourists. Volunteers are provided with special uniforms, free information, advertising and reference materials. For the training of “striped” navigators, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) attracts experts of the tourism industry: representatives of leading travel companies, the Youth Resource Center, the specialized platoon of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Vladivostok (tour police), the Department of International Relations of the VVSU, etc.
