“Striped” projects of Primorye

Tiger is one of the key symbols of the Primorsky Territory. It appears in the history of the development of the region, is on the emblems of Vladivostok and the subject. Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) preserves the culture and recognizable brands of the region, introduces tiger symbols into existing tourist projects.

Tiger quest: first experience, 2016
One of the bright first tiger projects launched by the regional Tourist Information Center was the quest "Find a tiger in Vladivostok". Tourists were asked to find and photograph four tiger sculptures in the city and receive a souvenir in the main office. The iconic points of the tiger route were three sculptural figures of a predator installed in the central part of the city, and another near the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. Guests of the regional center tasted the offer, and they took part in the interactive with great involvement. For a photo of himself against the background of four monuments, participants were given prizes. The first tiger quest was very popular: a large number of tourists passed it and received memorable gifts. So acquaintance with the city took place in an entertaining and interactive form. Most of all, tourists from other countries showed interest in the action. One of the most active were guests from the Asia-Pacific countries. Tiger quest became the winner in the nomination "Best quest game" following the results of the contest of travel guides, tourist maps and SMART applications in Russia MAP. The Striped Navigator project, 2019
The first tourist and volunteer project in the Far East was first launched in 2019 as part of the Hospitable Primorye program. In the first year, “striped” volunteers helped more than 500 tourists. The project aims to create a positive image and hospitable atmosphere of the region for residents and guests of the city. The organizer and initiator of the project is the Tourist Information Center (Visit Primorye) with the support of Ministry of Tourism of Primorsky Krai (note: at that time Agency for Tourism of Primorsky Krai).
Project "Strips on the mobile tourist information service. Volunteers of the program work on the central streets of Vladivostok. They competently, briefly, professionally and most importantly absolutely free of charge provide the necessary information for Russian and foreign tourists. Striped Navigators volunteers are active people who speak one or more foreign languages and are well-versed in the city. They can provide information about the city, as well as answer questions from tourists. This year, the project is holding its anniversary season and has already broken the record of previous years: more than 1,000 tourists consulted for a month of work. The project has received awards, including the Eventiada IPRA GWA, one of the largest awards in Eastern Europe, CIS and Central Asia, a regional partner of IPRA Golden World Awards, a global competition held since 1990 by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
Tiger quest: a new level, 2023
As part of the City holiday - Tiger Day - in 2023, the Tiger quest was first held in a new format. In addition to the route, where all the locations of the quest are associated with one of the main symbols of Vladivostok and Primorsky Krai, the Amur tiger, the participants also preferred the quiz and searched for answers to questions about the Red Book predator. Then all the teams, and among them during the holiday were still “school children” and “students”, passed the “tests” at once according to two criteria: the accuracy of answers and the speed of passage of all the quest locations. Subsequently, the quest was expanded and entered the main program of interactive activities of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). Among other things, graduates of the “School of a Young Guide” were involved in the quest. They provided information on the route and themselves conducted a quiz for listeners. "Tiger" plans, 2024
In the near future, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) will create a new tiger route together with the Amur Tiger Center. During the August meeting, in addition to updating the current register of “tiger monuments”, the parties formed the idea of creating a route through the “striped” objects of the show. Also remain in force participation in "Day of the tiger" and "Day of the leopard", various activities for children and adults, where all participants of master classes learn to collect tiger caps or master the basics of making a predator's muzzle according to the origami system.
