The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre resumes the educational project Theatre Preface

The upcoming meetings with the audience within the framework of the project "Theatrical Preface" of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will be held on May 17, 22, 29 and 31.
"Theatrical Preface" is an educational project of the Primorsky Stage, the purpose of which is to prepare the audience in an easy interactive format for attending performances and concerts, to give an idea of the work of composers and performers, to direct the audience's attention to the most important components of future performances. The project was first launched in 2018, and today, after a long break, fascinating conversations with musicologists return to the Primorsky stage. Meetings will be held in the foyer of the 5th floor an hour before the start of the performances.

Until the end of the theatrical season, four meetings are planned within the framework of the project. 17 May Theatrical Preface will be held before the screening of Ruggiero Leoncavallo's bright and emotional opera "Payatsy", 22 May — on the eve of the premiere of Peter Tchaikovsky's opera "Iolanta", 29 May — on the day of the show of Modest Musssssorgsky's monumental historical opera "Boris Godunov", 31 May —before the performance of the famous opera "Sergeman" and "Sergeman. During the meetings, issues of the history of the creation of works, the features of their musical language, drama, stage embodiment will be touched upon. Entrance is free for all spectators who came to the performance.
