Seaside tour guides celebrated their professional holiday in the workplace
According to the already established tradition, when organizing trips to other areas, guides pay attention not only to a specific place of visit, but also to the route itself: amazing historical pages of people’s lives, place toponymy, periods of development of the region. We did not ignore the history of the village of Romanovka, whose “biography” from the first settlers from the central provinces of Russia and military engineer Dmitry Romanov to the deployment of military units, including parts of the aviation of the Pacific Fleet, the engineering battalion of military unit 10540, the repair battalion of military unit 60299, the 163rd Naval Infirmary, the 543rd Radio Transmitting Center.
ZATO Fokino hosted a seminar, the main topic of which was, of course, tourism. The head of the district Alexander Baranov, who was present at the meeting, noted the underestimated opportunities of the tourist potential of the settlement, the popularization of tourism and expressed hope for a long and fruitful cooperation with the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society and the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). At this meeting, the achievements of the members of the circle of young guides of Fokino were noted: their zeal and curiosity for history, local history of their native city. Confirmation of this attitude of schoolchildren was a film created by young guides of the local history circle Askold. Working on it, the guys paid attention not only to the history of the city, but also to the feat of the 355th Marine Battalion. It should be noted that these guys actively help in preserving the history of the city. Thus, during the activity of the local history circle, the Book of Memory was created, which is constantly supplemented with new names. And this is a considerable merit of young citizens engaged in search work.
Pedestrian walk in Fokino gave an understanding of the city's infrastructure, its facilities, plans for the formation of excursion routes. As a result, secrets and secrets that were known to locals only at the end of the nineteenth century became clear and accessible to all.
One of the memorable moments on this trip was a visit to the military unit 25030-11, located in Shimiuz – the Valley of the Snakes. It is a pity that it is impossible to photograph anything, such requirements are dictated by security conditions. So we just watch and remember. By the way, in this part there is a club with a library and film library, as well as a museum. And although it is only one room, it feels a reverent and respectful attitude to history. Among the exhibits you can find samples of certificates of sailors, vodka stamps, outdated equipment as popular in everyday life, and military - a gun, grenades, shells, etc. Photos of memorable events and people are presented here.
The last point of the route was the Danube village. Not without a visit to the temple of George the Victorious. The rector of the temple Archpriest Alexander told about the construction of the temple in the Danube and some features of the architecture of the building. And the story about the facts of the appearance of a number of icons and their history was very vivid and exciting. Take, for example, the icon of St. Nicholas the Pleasant, known as Nikola the Mokry. In the temple is a dated copy, which was written off from the original. The original was lost after 1943. The very copy of the icon appeared thanks to the believer, in whose family it was family, that is, it was passed down through generations. But the hope that the original will suddenly be found does not fade. And then there was an acquaintance with one of the most interesting libraries, where the fund presents books from the period of the XVI-XVII centuries and to the present.
