Priority tasks in the development of auto tourism in Primorye

The Far East is an automotive region with a special relationship to the car, where the concepts of “car” and “tourism” are closely interrelated, and road travel has long become an independent goal. But to make it comfortable and safe, a number of tasks have to be solved. Therefore, the theme of the development of auto tourism formed the basis of the dialogue, which took place at the site of the international exhibition-forum "Russia".

Primorsky Krai shared its ideas, proposals and plans. Participants of the expert panel “Comfortable and safe auto tourism – conditions for development”, held on January 21, discussed the concept of development of road tourism in Russia for the period up to 2035, its priority areas, strategic planning of road tourist routes, the development of road services under the sign of quality: multifunctional zones. It is during the trip that a tourist should receive high-quality, comfortable and safe services, access to recreation facilities, tourist display facilities. At the objects of road service and other related infrastructure, it is necessary to improve the quality and variety of service: opportunities for rest, food, purchase of products, souvenirs, inspection of the car, etc. Taking part in the dialogue dedicated to creating conditions for the development of autotourism, Deputy Prime Minister of Primorsky Krai Nikolai Stetsko stressed that the region has already developed a draft Concept for the development of road services (autotourism), providing a number of support measures and conditions for the development of autotourism in the region. In Primorye, at the initial stage of implementation of the regional concept, subsidies are provided for the development of road service facilities, for the equipment of places for placement of car campsites. There are plans to equip 5 sites with a total number of parking spaces for camping in the amount of 50 units. The region is interested in studying the modernization of socially important “fairgrounds”. That is, spontaneous points of unauthorized trade near the roadsides will acquire civilized forms of trade. Unified information platforms will be formed through which investors will be able to learn about support measures, and all participants of the movement will receive information about the location of autotourism facilities and their qualitative characteristics. Another important stage in the work is the formation of a land bank and the preparation of investment sites, Nikolai Stetsko noted in his speech.

For the development of auto tourism in the Far Eastern Federal District on the roads of the region to ensure safe and comfortable rest, it is necessary to form a continuous cellular coverage area. It is necessary to provide service points with a minimum set of sanitary and hygienic needs both for individual tourists on personal cars and for organized tour groups traveling on buses up to 50 seats. It is also worth considering the creation of campsites and campsites for motorhomes, caravans and ordinary cars in the unique natural places of the Far East. Such campsites should be provided with electricity, water, sewerage and other supporting infrastructure without harm and damage to nature.
