The Tumannaya River entered the project of the Russian Geographical Society “Rivers of Russia”

The border river Tumannaya became part of the project of the Russian Geographical Society "Rivers of Russia". This modest waterway has an interesting fate, covering politics, ecology, chronicles of different eras and a tribute to those who brought victory in World War II. These tasks are designed to solve the tourist project "Red Tumangan".

"Red Tumangan" is a joint project, the participants of which are Russia, China and the DPRK. It unites patriotism and ideology, the victory of the Red Army in the struggle of the Korean and Chinese peoples for the liberation of their territories. And the importance of this project, its patriotic component is emphasized by the photo exhibition, which opened in the Primorsky regional branch of the RGS. The Red Tumangan is based on a memorial tourist route. The footage captures the solemn moments of its opening: visiting the iconic sites on the route, memorable places and laying wreaths on them in honor of the soldiers of the Red Army who gave their lives for the liberation of the occupied territories, the creation of a working group.

The fog river is the border river between Russia, China and the DPRK. The organizers of the Red Tumangan project are implementing it not from the point of view of politics and economics, but as a territory with a common history: the end of World War II, the liberation of the occupied territories in China and Korea, the victory over militaristic Japan.

The organizers of the Red Tumangan emphasize that the project is a tripartite. Plans for cooperation with members of the Chinese Geographical Society and the authorities of Jilin Province are being built. Potential participant and DPRK. Work is currently underway to involve them in the project. Work with both countries is built through the Russian Foreign Ministry, personal contacts, as well as through public diplomacy. An important aspect of this project is patriotic. We are talking about the search for the dead at the mouth of the foggy aircraft and crews, since it is the civil duty of each party to bury the dead and pay them honors.

Note that trips to the Khasan district today are among the most popular among tourists. Tour companies in the programs combine the patriotic direction, telling about the point of three borders, the battles for the hill Zaozernaya and Hasan conflict, and environmental tourism with visits to iconic natural sites.

Participation in the RGS project implies multifacetedness – historical, ecological, natural, cultural components. The river Tumannaya in the RGS project is a breakthrough for the region. Until now, there was only one Far Eastern river in the register - the Lena.  Great attention is paid to conservation activities, protection of endangered species of flora and fauna, preservation of natural heritage. The popularity of the Khasan district, taking into account the year-round resort under construction, modern recreation centers, will increase among tourists, including foreign tourists. And it is very important to take into account the recreational load on this territory, taking into account environmental safety and the preservation of historical memory, - says the chairman of the section of local studies and excursion studies of the PKO of the Russian Geographical Society - JIAC Daria Guseva.
