On May 1, applications for the 2nd season of the All-Russian competition for the best travel “Far East – Land of Adventure” begins

The award for the best short film about a trip to the Far East is 3 million rubles, you can apply for participation until December 30.

From May 1 to December 30, applications for participation in the 2nd season of the All-Russian competition for the best trip "Far East - Land of Adventures" will be opened. The competition is held on the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia, the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Social Initiatives Development Fund NGO. Not only from the point of view of the fact that the Far East must be visited, but also from the point of view of the fact that rest on sunbeds does not bring anything positive to a person’s life. But when you go out and understand: you need to make a fire, set up a tent, calculate your strength, it seems to me that then a person becomes more confident, stronger, said Yuri Trutnev. 

The representative of the Far Eastern Federal District added that the main purpose of the competition is to "show the unique places of the Far East to all the residents of the country", because many people, unfortunately, have not been here.

Travels that the participants of the competition will swim on the kayadars, or they will be able to say on the right foot, and I will live on the right foot! We want to support such people and their interest in the Far East of our country. I am sure that the video travel sent to the contest will help make the decision to come here, said Yuri Trutnev.

To participate in the competition, you need to make a short film about your trip to the Far East and send it to the jury for evaluation. The competition is held in the following categories: Grand Prix (best trip); hiking (hiking, cycling in the wild); water travel (river rafting, sea, underwater travel, surfing); winter travel (skiing, dog sled travel, winter cycling, snowboarding). Special attention is paid to those routes that recreate the journeys of pioneers and discoverers of the Far Eastern territories. Both children from ten years old can take part in the competition, but under the guidance of adults, and adults themselves, the age qualification for which is absent. 

The best video materials will be selected by jury members, among whom: TV journalist, author and host of the TV program "Unputable Notes" Dmitry Krylov, Arctic traveler, video blogger Bogdan Bulychev, TV presenter Valdis Pelsh, head of the project "More than a journey" Olesya Teterina, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, author and host of the TV program "How the world is arranged by Nikofita V. In addition, the winners of the first season of the competition will take part in the evaluation of the works: Elena Poddubnaya, Ernest Leonidov, Alisa Slyshchenko. 

We note that not only experienced travelers but also children accompanied by adults can take part in the competition, and among the winners of the first season were both professionally shot films and shots captured on a regular phone. According to the results of the competition, the best works of the winners and prize-winners will be broadcast on the broadcasting grid of regional TV channels, and reporting information and videos will be added to the interactive map of tourist routes of the Far East regions. The experience of the first season has already shown that the competition is in demand among professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

In November 2023, the first season of the competition was summed up at the international exhibition-forum. In total, the organizing committee of the Far East – Land of Adventure contest received more than two hundred reports on travel to the Far Eastern regions. The most active travelers who sent reports to the competition were residents of Kamchatka, Moscow, Sakhalin region. The project brought together travelers from all over Russia: for bright emotions came not only the Far East, but also residents of St. Petersburg, the Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea, the Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Arkhangelsk regions. 

Thanks to the competition, people who sit at home will think about what to do in the summer season, and maybe go to the Far East and get acquainted with the amazing nature of the Far Eastern regions. In movies you can see a person who makes a journey, his emotions, his mood. It worked. We saw in all the films sent people who are behind the journey, shared his impressions of the first season polar traveler, Honored Master of Sports, Honorary Polar Explorer, Director of the GBU “Travel Laboratory” Matvey Shparo. This year, as information partners, the contest is supported by such media and media companies as TASS, RIA Novosti, Komsomolskaya Pravda, Arguments and Facts, VKontakte, etc. As part of our VK Places project, only in 2023 we visited the Khabarovsk Territory, Yakutia, Buryatia and Chukotka, following the trips, image videos and user content are created that reveal unusual locations and heroes of the regions. The plans for 2024 are to go to Sakhalin, see the Amur region and the Primorsky Territory. This project, I am sure, will not only allow the Russians to discover the beauty and uniqueness of the Far East without leaving home, but also inspire them to take their own unforgettable journey along this region, commented Dmitry Uvarov, Director of Strategic Partnership at VK.
