The school holidays are not boring. They should be fun, interesting, informative and ... delicious. Today, the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) had a hand in this.

In the school camp of school No. 74, gastronomic master classes and a historical excursion were organized for children of junior classes. Acquaintance with the Far Eastern cuisine and the Vladivostok fortress took place at a real sold-out. It was simply impossible to miss such events.

Chefs of three restaurants of Vladivostok, and this is the chef of the pan-Asian restaurant "Zuma" Ivan Osipenko, the brand-chef of the restaurant of the water complex "Aquatoria" Maxim Mozharovsky and the chef of the breakfast cafe "Omlet Station" Azamat Mukhamedov taught the children to cook simple dishes with a Far Eastern "accent": a sandwich with pollock, an omelet with sockey and pancakes with different fillings. As a result, more than 80 children became young cooks for one hour. Each group had its own dish, but the emotions of all united.

During such gastronomic lessons, chefs tell children about the profession, about local gastronomy, about local products and the culture of cooking. At the same time, they emphasize that the ability not only to prepare a dish, but also to serve it beautifully is also very important. Guys absorb this information like sponges. And who knows, maybe someone after such lessons will choose a profession in the field of hospitality? Moreover, after the preparation of these simple dishes and their collective tasting, the children, interrupting each other, shared not only impressions, but also promised to teach parents to cook such sandwiches, omelets and pancakes. Head of the excursion and tourist bureau Christina Alexandrova invited the children on an exciting journey into the past. The students were told interesting stories about the construction of fortresses, about their purpose, about the Vladivostok fortress – its uniqueness, the people who designed and built it. The story was accompanied by a display of objects related to the construction of a world-famous fortification. And so that it was not boring, the guys together performed game tasks. With the help of various movements and gestures, they “traveled to the ends of the world”, participated in “construction work”, built a “defense line”, learned to “transmit signals”. It is worth adding that the Museum offers young tourists and history lovers a large list of events that allow you to get acquainted with the city and the landmark events of Vladivostok in a non-boring format. " It was the largest gastronomic lesson on Far Eastern cuisine for schoolchildren of Vladivostok, it was attended by more than 80 children aged 8 to 11 years. In the new academic year, we will continue to introduce children to the Far Eastern cuisine, as well as to the history of the region through gastronomy. Such multi-purpose lessons are the popularization of the profession, demonstration of the multifaceted culture of Primorye, respect for products, the opportunity to learn how to cook, communication with chefs who are known not only in Vladivostok, but also far beyond the region, including abroad, where they move our region. I am glad that the guys are open to communication, they are interested, they are ready to learn and learn everything new, said Vitaly Stanislavchuk, Head of the Department of Project Management and Analytics of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). It was organized by the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) and the Department for work with municipal educational institutions.

We recall that 35 gastronomic lessons were held in Vladivostok schools during the 2023-2024 academic year. Participants – 15 restaurants of the Far Eastern capital and almost a thousand schoolchildren from the second to ninth grades.
