Master classes in Far Eastern cuisine took a worthy place in the schedule of Vladivostok schools. But cooking is no longer limited to cooking. This lesson was held on February 12 at the ninth graders of the Vladivostok secondary school No 28 with in-depth study of foreign languages. The first part of the meeting was devoted to the correct setting of the table, the second - directly preparing the declared dish. During this lesson, the children were shown that cooking is important, but the ability to serve it is no less interesting and important. The rules for serving the table, using one or another tableware and table items depending on breakfast, lunch, dinner, the technique of serving dishes was “supervised” by senior teacher of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business of VVSU Viktor Surzhykov. For each side, this lesson is the first. So everybody was interested. Students willingly tried to reproduce the table setting, not forgetting all the subtleties and features, and the teacher’s task is to give information so that it was capacious, interesting and memorable. " We have opened a College of service and design, where students enter not only on the basis of 11 classes, but also 9. Therefore, such lessons and meetings are a kind of career guidance, popularization of the profession of the tourism and hospitality industry. They showed interest and actively asked questions. The plan of the event was very logical. At first, I talked about the human need for food, about the fact that cooking a dish is an art, but serving it beautifully is also akin to art. I am sure that work in this direction will continue, - said Victor Surzhykov.

The topic of food continued the team of the restaurant "Laffa". Under the leadership of brand chief Andrei Kuzlyakin, the guys learned the basics of cooking salad with squid and mango. The continuation of this lesson was a collective tasting. 

"Such events allow you to acquaint children not only with the kitchen of the restaurant "Laffa", with the author's presentation of regional products (note: when cooking salad used squid commander), but also with cooking, popularizing the direction of catering and tourism in the region. And the solution of personnel issues in the industry is one of the important tasks that requires a qualitative approach. One of the priority tasks in the work of our restaurant is participation in the social sphere and tourism development, popularization of the region, added the brand-chef Andrei Kuzlyakin, for whom communication with the public, including the young, and not only in the restaurant, is important. Throughout the lesson, the students asked a lot of questions. They concerned not only the given topic – serving and preparation, but also admission to educational institutions, the educational process itself, the possibility of employment and part-time work for the summer. This lesson made it possible to demonstrate for children different aspects of the field of hospitality and professions. The most persistent and motivated have already been lucky – the guys agreed on the opportunity to plunge into the profession during the summer holidays.

We recall that the initiators and organizers of these gastronomic lessons in Vladivostok schools were the Tourist Information Center of Primorye, the Primorsky Territory Tourism Agency, the Department of Education of Vladivostok, Supra and Zuma restaurants.
