Tourism is not only impressions and excursions, architectural monuments and natural objects, it is also safety. And given the popularity of recreation, the growth of tourist flow, the development of various areas in the tourism industry, not only comfort, but also safety and protection of tourists' rights come to the fore.
In the past 2024, almost four million trips were made in the Primorsky Territory. How does the region attract tourists, how does the subject increase attractiveness, how does the industry develop service, how does Primorye create not only a comfortable holiday, but also a safe one? Why Vladivostok is really comfortable for tourists and guests from other countries, how the work on creating a safe environment for tourists is organized, what is the feedback from guests of the Far Eastern capital, etc. – this was told to students of the second and third year of the direction “Tourism” of Vladivostok State University (VVVSU) at the lecture “Safety in Tourism” Victoria Dmitrieva, a leading consultant of the tourist and information department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorye (Visit Primorye).
The students were interested in the work of the specialized company of the PPSP regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vladivostok (tourist police). This unit has been operating since 2020, when the idea of its creation was initiated. The students' questions concerned how the work of the tourist police differs from the activities of the police and what problems tourists approach the employees of the specialized platoon with.
In our work, it is always important to share experience and practical skills at meetings with students of specialized areas. The educational process, which is complemented by lectures of practitioners of the tourism industry, becomes more practice-oriented and cognitive. Thus, within the framework of the “Professionality” cluster program in the tourism industry and the service sector, we help to reveal for the younger generation and young people the values of the historical and cultural heritage and local history of the Primorsky Territory through the disclosure of recreation opportunities and the promotion of the tourist potential of destination of our region, – Anastasia Povetkina, deputy head of the tourist and information department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye)
One of the tasks of the Regional Tourist Information Center is to create a comfortable and safe environment for guests during their stay in Primorye. The Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) has a register of certified guides-interpreters, conductors, tour guides, boat owners working in the legal field.
