Students of universities of the Far Eastern capital are invited to participate in the contest of videos about Vladivostok

Vladivostok will celebrate its 165th anniversary this summer. Students of Vladivostok universities can sing their city, show its beauty and uniqueness, drive and attractiveness, becoming participants of contest of videos (12+). The project was initiated on the eve of the anniversary of the city by the Primorsky regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society - the Amur Region Research Society with the support of partners.
Features of the competition, its importance, opportunities for participation - this was told to students of the Maritime State University named after Nevelsky and Vladivostok State University by the co-organizers of the competition - representatives of the administration of Vladivostok and the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
Historical excursion about the stages of the founding of the city of Vladivostok and acquaintance with the milestones of its bright periods was presented to the audience by the Deputy Head of Vladivostok and a member of the Primorsky branch of the RGS. She shared the details of the conclusion of important agreements on the division of lands, signed in the 19th century, the Aigun and Beijing treatises, according to which the lands of the Far East finally began to belong to the territory of Russia. She also told how Vladivostok was during the revolutionary period, how its life went under closed regime and how the city differed in its development and formation from many other cities of Russia.
“It is a pleasure to have so many memorable and significant events this year. One of them is the anniversary of our city. We are constantly working to popularize the historical heritage of Vladivostok and its memorable pages of the past. But now it will be interesting to see what surprises the contestants. The time to create videos is until the end of May. We will help, guide and inspire young children during this period, Daria Stegny added.

Until May 31, all residents and guests of the city over 14 have the opportunity to take part in the competition "Vladivostok - 165 years." The task for all participants is to shoot a short video lasting no more than 180 seconds. Participants have the freedom to express their creativity and ideas. The genre in which the video will be shot, they determine themselves (interview, reportage, etc.)
For the convenience of creating thematic plots, the competition announced five nominations:
- "Vladivostok is historical": videos about interesting streets, unique buildings, urban plots and legends.
- "Vladivostok - natural sights of the city by the sea": videos that show endemic natural plants and animals, as well as the amazing biota of Peter the Great Bay.
The competition "Vladivostok - 165 years" is held with the support of the Administration of the city of Vladivostok, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye), the Primorsky Regional Union of Tourism Industry, the Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok State University, the Maritime State University named after adm. G.I. Nevelsky.
The main objective of the competition is to increase the involvement of residents and guests of the city to the history, culture, traditions of the capital of the Far East, the capital of the Primorsky Territory, the Youth Capital-2024.
The Organizing Committee of the Contest included representatives of the Primorsky Regional Branch of the Russian Geographic Society - the Society for the Study of the Amur Region, the Administration of Vladivostok, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visa), the State University of Vladivostok, the Primorsky University of the Far East, the State Tourism (Vis State University of Vladivostok), and the State University of the Far East. The Competition Commission will work and evaluate the participants' videos throughout June, and by July 2 the winners in each of the five nominations will be announced.
