Edible record set in Vladivostok

The birthday of Vladivostok was fun and delicious. The city was on record: 500 people at high speed sculpted khinkali. The task was to make 5,000 khinkali in five minutes.

The initiator and organizer of this event were the Supra restaurant chain and the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). It fit perfectly into the program of the celebration of the City Day and the street program of the gastro festival “On the Crest!”, creating a driving atmosphere and mood. We trained throughout June, learned how to roll the dough correctly and pinch the folds. Of course, we do not talk about aerobatics when the masters make 32 pinches, but many began to get 12. Feeling moral and professional readiness, the participants went to the record.

The action was a 120-meter line of 50 tables placed along the embankment of Tsesarevich. For the participants, 270 kilograms of test and 270 kilograms of filling were prepared. At 11:30 a.m., a symbolic buzzer sounded and a team of volunteers embarked on a "creative process." After five minutes, 4,540 khinkali with a scallop was ready. The record was recorded by the expert of the Book of Records of Russia, who specially arrived in Vladivostok.

Why the scallop? This sea mollusk has long become one of the unofficial symbols of Vladivostok, and its image is even in the brand book of Vladivostok as the youth capital-2024. And on the calendar, the festival of the Far Eastern scallop "On the Ridge!", and it is in full swing.
