The tone will set the theme “Traditions in the modern world”. Do modern teenagers need traditions, how to preserve culture and find a balance between tradition and modernity, so as not to lose history, to feel their place in this world? Each state has its own unique culture and traditions, and the lecture, and maybe even dialogue, will be built on the example of the DPRK. About how the three borders were formed, about the history of Korean immigrants in the 60s of the XIX century and their life in Vladivostok, elements of the cultural code of the nation, the reasons for deportation, the formation of the DPRK and other stages of the “life” of the Korean people and this state will be told by Natalia Zinina, an employee of the company “Vostok Intour”, a member of the section of local studies and excursions of the Primorsky branch of the Russian Geographical Society – OIAC. And during these meetings it was possible to observe the traditional culture of the country and its state.
By the way, gastronomy fits perfectly into cultural values. The habits of people associated with nutrition directly depend on the characteristics of the region of their residence. The second part of the meeting is Korean cuisine. Tatiana and Galina Kim, the founder of the family cafe "Sisters Kim", will share secrets and teach children to cook pian-se with carrots in Korean. And to make the Korean theme sound more vivid, fast food masters can dress up in the national outfit - hanbok.Add, in Vladivostok pian-se in mass sale appeared in 1994. And acquaintance with the Korean culture and traditions of the Land of Morning Freshness will be an interesting moment in the 30-year history of one of the gastronomic symbols of the city. Primorye is a multinational region. And this multinational flavor – costumes, gastronomy, folk music – was presented in the central square of Vladivostok. Today, people of more than 150 nationalities live in the region, and all of them want to preserve their history, culture, traditions for future descendants. Our lesson is not just the popularization of gastronomy and travel, it is also an opportunity to show schoolchildren how important it is to remember, collect and maintain traditions. They are always interesting, diverse and are, as it were, the “soul” of the people, explained Vitaly Stanislavchuk, head of the project management and analytics department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
The organizer of this project is the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) and the Department for Work with Municipal Education Institutions of Vladivostok.
We will remind you that the project on conducting gastronomic lessons in 20-2024 was launched in Vladivostok. During this time, chefs from 15 restaurants held 35 lessons on Far Eastern cuisine, the participants of which were about a thousand children from the second to ninth grades. This year, the lessons will be strengthened by the local history component, meetings with employees of museums and travel companies.
