How to increase the level of local history knowledge, attract young Primorsky residents to study the history of the region, which can give walking tours, acquaintance with museum exhibits, respect for toponymy, what is the importance of joint work of teachers, local historians, travel companies - these directions set the tone of the conference aimed at popularizing local history and domestic tourism for families of the Far Eastern Federal District. The event was part of a series of trips of the commemorative rally “Discover Primorye together”, organized by the Primorsky regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society – the Society for the Study of the Amur Territory. The conference was held with the participation of creative teams of the city, honored guests, poetic etudes and leading experts of the tourism industry and representatives of the PKO RGS-OIAC. The conference ended with a special cancellation of a unique postcard dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Society for the Study of the Amur Region.

The Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) presented a report on the current and important topic at the moment with an emphasis on the ethnographic component - "The fascinating attraction of meetings with ethnic communities of Primorye." " To popularize the tourist potential of the region, to acquaint local residents and guests with its multifaceted culture and ethnicity, to raise awareness about small towns of Primorsky Krai is one of the important and key tasks in our work. It is always useful to increase the level of local lore knowledge by joint efforts with colleagues from other regions. We would like trips to Primorye to include not only a visit to Vladivostok, but also its other cities. During the conference, we managed not only to establish contacts, but also to discuss current areas of joint activities with colleagues, – shared emotions from the event, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) Anastasia Povetkina.

At today’s event, I liked everything that happened, it was interesting to listen to those who spoke. A lot of interesting information, learned new facts and we would like to have such events even more, said Ulyana Zvonareva, a student of school No. 12 in Spassk-Dalny. " Today, we once again talked with our colleagues about the importance of cooperation and broadening our horizons for our younger generation. The rally “Discover Primorye together” with its geography covered a significant part of our region, which included Spassk-Dalny. There is still a lot of work and new away events ahead. Within the framework of the festival, we always talk about the importance of popularizing local history and are already working closely on creating a register of objects of natural and historical and cultural heritage at the venues of the events, – shared his impressions of the conference, Evgeny Okhrimenko, Executive Director of the Primorsky Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society – the Amur Region Studies Society. The festival will be held in August-September on the territory of Primorsky Krai and is a continuation of the II Interregional Festival of the Russian Geographical Society “Discovering Russia Again”.
