Tourist and information center of Primorye takes part in the regional championship "Professionals"

Vladivostok completed the regional stage of the championship on professional skills, held at more than 20 key educational sites of Primorye from 20 to 30 March.

All-Russian championship on professional skills is a competition of opportunities and an integrated approach to determining the skills and abilities of schoolchildren and students in various professions. The competitions were held in 66 competencies in the main age category and 28 competencies in the junior category. It is important that the participants were able to choose as directions not only their “native specialty”, but also to try themselves in new professions. At the sites of VVSU, the Professionals Championship of Professional Skills brought together students and schoolchildren of Vladivostok who demonstrated their knowledge and level of preparation for future work in the tourism industry. 

As invited experts and main experts at VVSU, employees of the Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) also acted. As the main expert of the competence of "Tourism" was the deputy head of the tourist information department Anastasia Povetkina. Specialist in congress and exhibition activities Taisiya Putilina and leading consultant Victoria Dmitrieva presented an expert opinion at the venues where the participants tried themselves in such tourist competencies as “Tourism” and “Organization of excursion services”. The peculiarity of such events is the great involvement of all those present here: future specialists are invested in solving problems on each module, experts try to take into account the criteria and assessment of the ability to implement requests on tasks. Such teamwork leads to mutually positive results and the exchange of experience between experts and participants, said Anastasia Povetkina about the organization of the competence of Tourism.

Competitions took place over several days, participants overcame tests on six modules. Tasks are interesting and diverse, there are complex requests, there are areas where you need to show your creative beginning and include creativity. In the direction of "Tourism" participants were able to try themselves as a travel agent, tour operator, manager, etc. The contestants tried themselves in business communication, development of tourist products, promotion of territories of other regions of Russia and formation of proposals for the implementation of new projects to expand the tourist opportunities of their native region and not only. Students of the competence "Organization of excursion services" in accordance with the tasks had to develop a tour, conclude a contract with a client, form a range of services, come up with their own author's tour of the exhibition, conduct a master class and solve a large number of tasks. For three days, he tries himself in solving all the daily tasks of representatives of the tourism industry. Including – it is a high-quality tool of coworking between industry experts and future staff for work in tourism, – shared the emotions of the main expert of the site, associate professor of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business of VVSU Galina Petrova. 

Reference: the goal of the Championship “Professionals” – creating conditions and a system of motivation for students and schoolchildren to increase the importance and prestige of future working professions. Working in a short time within the competence creates opportunities for professional growth of young people. In particular, it is a qualitative opportunity to train strong and trained personnel for various sectors of the region’s economy, including tourism. The winners of the championship in each of the competencies will receive the right to represent the Primorsky Territory at the final stage and at the final of the National Champion of the All-Russian Championship Movement in Professional Skills "Professionals".
