Tourist Information Center of Primorye continues to improve the map of inclusive tourism
It will be a useful resource for all types of nosologies of people with disabilities. These are people with limited mobility, people with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, hearing, vision, speech, intelligence and other restrictions. The first version of the inclusive map was introduced in early 2023. In the near future, the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) plans to expand the geography of the available map and connect new territories. Maps of the accessibility of routes along Artem, Ussuriisk and Nakhodka are already being developed.
The Primorsky Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society - the Society for the Study of the Amur Territory and the first Russian extreme para-traveler extreme wheelchair user Igor Skikevich are actively involved in the development of the map of inclusive tourism. In the section with useful information in the new map, organizations that help people with disabilities are added. For example, the Mayak and Medexpress Accessible Environment Center provide a social taxi service. The school "White Cane" provides rehabilitation and socialization for people with visual impairment, and the Walking League "Ginseng" of Primorsky Krai holds sports and health events for all categories of people with disabilities. During the development of the map, working meetings were held with experts in the inclusive direction. Thus, the head of the school “White cane” Inna Verbitskaya shared her methods of working with blind people, told about the rules of their support, and also voiced recommendations for filling the map with data so that a blind or visually impaired person could hear the information. The plans of the company MedExpress, the head of which is Vadim Brzezovsky, to expand the office in Artem and purchase another specialized machine for the prompt and comfortable transportation of low-mobility passengers between Artem and Vladivostok, Artem and Nakhodka. The purpose of such trips is to make tourism a comfortable and interesting pastime for most people with various types of health restrictions. The Mayak Accessible Environment Center is not only engaged in the transportation of disabled people, but also helps organizations to carry out certification and certification of facilities for people with disabilities. " We try to make the map more understandable for all categories of people with different nosologies. The main purpose of such a map is to help people with disabilities visit museums, theaters and parks and other attractions. This year, we plan to work fruitfully with an inclusive direction, we plan to expand the geography of maps for comfortable tourism in small cities of the Primorsky Territory, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory.
