Vladivostok tourist police told about the possibilities of inclusive tourism in the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District

Training of employees of the tourist police - a specialized platoon of the MIA of Russia in the city of Vladivostok continues in the capital of the Far East. One of the areas of study is inclusive tourism and work with travelers who have any various violations, restrictions on activity. 

In the framework of the lecture, a representative of the inclusive direction, director of the Center for Paratourism of the Far East, the first Russian para-traveler, an expert on paratourism and accessible environment, a public figure - Igor Skikevich became a speaker for platoon staff. Tourist Information Center of Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) together with Igor Skikevych are actively conducting activities in the study of adaptation of tourist display places for tourists with disabilities and disabled citizens (MGN). Work on improving the maps of “affordable tourism” continues in the region, new places of rest and sightseeing facilities are added. Also, inclusive roadmaps and guidebooks are being developed, which allows expanding the geography and popularizing inclusive tourism in the region. Igor Skikevich at the meeting in an online format told and demonstrated to the staff of the tourist police photo and video materials about the ways of escorting and providing situational assistance to wheelchair users in overcoming barriers (borders, steps, escalators) at tourist infrastructure facilities. The speaker also demonstrated the methods of boarding and disembarking in cars and water transport, explained the possibility of visiting places with conditional availability in urban and natural environments. All these methods worked out in real conditions clearly show the effectiveness of providing evacuation assistance to disabled people in case of emergency situations at facilities and locations. Also, the expert on paratourism spoke about the tourist opportunities of Vladivostok as recreation points for tourists with various categories of inclusions. Share the experience of his travels and movements and plans for the future in popularizing the inclusive potential of the city and the Primorsky Territory as a whole. " This year, to train the tourist police, we attracted an experienced wheelchair traveler who spoke about the tourist potential of an inclusive destination. The Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory is fruitfully working in this direction and for successful communication we shared our current results, plans and ideas with employees, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). Such meetings help to become more competent in matters of interaction with various categories of citizens, added the commander of the specialized platoon of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Primorsky Territory Tatiana Sharonova. 

We note: the training of employees of the specialized platoon of the tourist police started last week and will continue until mid-May. During the lectures, platoon staff will study local history, remember the history of the stages of the formation of the region, assess the current tourist potential of the city and reveal the current trends in the tourism industry.
