The tourist police of Primorye was introduced to the peculiarities of interaction with tourists from China

Training of specialists of tourist police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Vladivostok continues. 

Tourist information center of Primorye (Visit Primorye) with the support of Tourism Agency of PrimoryeBuilds work aimed at ensuring the comfort and safety of foreign citizens in Vladivostok. Classes have already been held on tourism infrastructure, historical periods of development of Vladivostok, work with inclusive leisure destinations.

The topic of the last meeting was work with Chinese tourists. This time the invited lecturer was Artem Kononov, Candidate of Economic Sciences of the Department of Intercultural Communications and Translation Studies, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business. He spoke about interaction with tourists from China, presented statistics of tourist flows of Chinese guests: the flow of tourists from China for the first quarter of 2024 amounted to more than 49 thousand people. He also presented a number of key differences in the mentality of tourists from China in their cultural and social areas of communication. For a more complete understanding of the topic, the speaker spoke about such philosophical trends as Taoism and Confucianism, which are the spiritual and cultural face of Chinese civilization. Together with the staff of the tourist police, an expert on interaction with Chinese tourists analyzed those cases of the behavior of guests from the PRC who surprise the residents of the Russian Federation in their behavior, and revealed their behavioral meanings and motives. It was important for us to involve an expert in working with the Chinese direction in training. Given the steady growth of Chinese tourists, we decided to help the tourist police better understand the Chinese mentality. And since in the summer the practice of communication skills will be exactly more, during the lecture we tried to reveal the key moments for convenient and comfortable interaction of both Chinese tourists and tourist police, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye). Conversational English courses, a number of lectures on local history and tourist potential of the city of Vladivostok were organized for employees. This year, the training of the tourist police began in early April and will last until mid-May.
