The tourist potential of the Big Stone was appreciated by the current guides of the RGS section

Members of the section of local history and excursion studies of the Primorsky regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society - the Society for the Study of the Primorsky Territory visited Big Stone.

The whole day was devoted to sightseeing of the territory and the assessment by experts of its natural, cultural and tourist potential. The initiator and organizer of this working trip were the Tourist Information Center of Primorye (Visit Primorye) and the regional branch of the RGS-JIAC. On the way to the Big Stone, guides shared interesting information: cultural and natural heritage, historical facts about places and objects of display on the way to the Big Stone. 

On arrival in the city of new industries, a global city in the east of the country, Big Vladivostok 2050 - this is what the Big Stone is also called today - a group of active guides and local historians during the day visited the People's Museum of the history of the city, two leaf lighthouses, coastal beach areas and other objects. Working trips for representatives of the tourism industry and existing tour guides are an opportunity to draw attention to the development of small towns. Since the geography of travel of tourists has recently expanded significantly, they are interested in visiting not only Vladivostok, but also other areas of Primorye, including other cities. In this case, the Big Stone can be a good opportunity and a destination for traveling around Primorye. Here, in addition to the main points of attraction, there is one of the largest industrial complexes - the shipbuilding enterprise Far Eastern Zvezda Plant.

The cultural and historical potential in this city is quite high. I especially remember visiting the local museum. The exposition presents all the stages of the formation of the Big Stone and you can track how its development took place at each of the stages. This is an interesting opportunity to dive into the tourist potential of this city. Now there are new ideas and plans for future work, said one of the participants of the working trip to the Big Stone, the current tour guide of the Primorsky Territory.

We note that the exploration of the tourist potential of the territories allows us to further develop new routes for tourists and present them with display objects. And the Big Stone is on that list. For example, it can be visited on the way to Nakhodka, to the beaches of Triozeria and Livadia. The results of the trip became a reason for discussion. For example, in the city there are interesting objects to visit, but there are a number of difficulties with parking spaces for large tourist buses. " Working trips to seaside cities are an opportunity to popularize and promote local lore knowledge through the association of like-minded people. Here there is an opportunity to learn new things, share experience, think through new opportunities for the development of tourism in the territories in the format of general communication. In addition, we are working to collect information and assess the tourist potential of local display facilities, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory.
