Students of Vladivostok held a “date” with the Vladivostok fortress

Within the framework of the Year of the Vladivostok Fortress, a lecture hall was held in Vladivostok for students of VVSU, organized by the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) with the support of the regional Tourism Agency

During the dialogue, the children were revealed the secrets of construction, told about the fortifications currently open for visiting, shared plans for the development and popularization of one of the popular tourist sites of Vladivostok. " Acquaintance with the Vladivostok fortress is numerous excursions, forums, positioning of the object at different venues and during various events. Working with students is another audience. And this allows you to reveal the historical contribution and cultural potential of the unique objects of the Vladivostok fortress through an audience of open, curious, thinking and active. As part of the new status of Vladivostok as the Youth Capital of Russia, we decided this time to attract the youth of our city - students of VVSU to the lecture hall. It is they who will further develop and popularize such a direction of recreation as visiting fortifications, said Anastasia Povetkina, deputy head of the tourist and information department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory. 

The lecture allowed us to make a real exciting journey from those days and from the place where our city of Vladivostok was formed to the present. Meeting with professionals is very interesting. I immediately want to share this with friends. And such meetings give an idea of the profession, allow you to learn some professional secrets, - said Feofanova Maria, a 1st year student.

We recall: on August 30, 1889, at the Goldobinsk mortar battery - the place where the first defensive structures were erected - the official ceremony of declaring Vladivostok a fortress took place. So this year will mark 135 years since the proclamation of Vladivostok as a fortress city. This year has been declared the Year of the Vladivostok Fortress. This is a new round of tourism. In honor of this date, a number of events are planned in the region aimed at popularizing and revealing not only the tourist opportunities of the fortress, but also the historical feat of those who took part in its construction.
