In Primorye completes a cycle of historical lectures

The section of local studies and excursion studies of the PKO RGO-OIAC together with the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) told interested listeners about the vicissitudes of the fates of residents, interesting facts about the historical and cultural potential of Primorye, biographies of historical personalities, aspects of international relations, the history of the development of coastal cities, the unique defensive system of fortifications, cartographic features of the region, about the musical pages and images of Vladivostok and Primorye and other interesting topics in it. On average, 4 to 6 lectures were held per month, depending on the season of local history lectures and the load of guides. For the convenience and variety of choice of residents and guests of the city, information about the lectures was published for a month in advance on the tourist portal of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye) and on the website of the Primorsky Regional Branch of the RGS-OIAC. Each guide chose the subject of the lecture himself and on the basis of scientific research, personal knowledge and empirical experience prepared material on the topics of lectures.

"Our task at these lectures is to try to immerse participants in an interesting and accessible form in the basics of local history of the Primorsky Territory. It is nice to see the fact that we do not have an age reference: both young residents of the city and older participants come to the lecture hall. The interest of our listeners inspires us to continue working with this project. I would like our audience to return and visit this format again and again. Within the framework of the Year of the Family, the members of the section interacted with middle, high school and students. For the entire season of lectures-2024, more than 40 local history events were held, with more than 670 people participating.

It is important for local historians and guides of our section to take part in this project and organize lectures for residents and guests of the city. Knowledge of the history of the place where you live is of great importance both in the context of Russian history and in the international arena. Now there is a large amount of information in open sources on the Internet, which people can not always interpret correctly. Tour guides who give lectures, in turn, work a lot with archives, both at the regional and federal levels, and process a large amount of historical data. The project popularizes love for the history of the native region, it is especially important to do this for our younger generation, - told about the project Chairman of the section of local studies and excursion studies, member of the Council of the PKO RGS-JIAC Daria Guseva.

About the project: a cycle of cognitive lectures - a joint social project of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Krai (Visit Primorye) and PKO RGOIAC, which is held for more than the first year. Guides prepare author's lectures on the historical periods of formation and development of Primorye. Listeners are immersed in the past of the region and through the format of lectures are introduced to the heritage of the region with its tourist and recreational potential. All lectures are free to attend, the duration of one event is from 1.5 to 2 hours.
