Tiger Day in Vladivostok
Every September, the seaside capital becomes a center of attraction for conservationists from around the world: the city celebrates Tiger Day on a grand scale. This unique environmental festival was born in Vladivostok in 2000 on the initiative of the famous Far Eastern writer, biologist and hunter Vladimir Troinin. Over the past quarter of a century, the city tradition has grown into a grand celebration of the national scale, attracting tens of thousands of guests.
According to a long tradition, the celebration takes place on the last Sunday of September. The program usually includes: Bright costumed procession. Thousands of schoolchildren, students, environmentalists and tourists in orange-and-black costumes and striped masks pass in a solemn column along Ocean Avenue to central area.
- Interactive educational areas. Leading reserves of the region and environmental funds are deploying cognitive tents with environmental quests, quizzes and creative master classes for children.
