On the coast of Steklyannaya Bay, special tablets were installed informing about the prohibition to take glass with you. Information on this is presented in three languages: Russian, English and Chinese. These measures were taken to preserve the unique recreation area.

A few years ago, Steklyannaya Bay was included in the list of objects that the regional Tourist Information Center recommends visiting guests of Primorye. The place is stunningly beautiful, framed by rocks. And the landscape here leaves no one indifferent. But some are enough for the impressions of a simple rest on the shore and a dozen shots made, and others want to take it with them as a souvenir. But this desire can cost the region "expensive". Mass Chinese tourists actively collected packages rolled by waves of glass and porcelain. As a result, the glass multicolored beach can quickly cease to exist.

This topic was raised from season to season. This year, after the pandemic, the situation escalated with the influx of tourists to this corner of Vladivostok. Tour operators scored bells that it is necessary to take "radical" measures. The list includes awareness of tourists, work with guides, drivers, etc. And this work should be consolidated, because the main thing is to preserve this unique attractiveness of the bay for guests.

Tablets informing about the prohibition to take glass with you, established the Directorate of Public Spaces of Vladivostok.

Glass Bay is a unique phenomenon. In Russia, it is the only beach of this kind. Its appearance we owe not only nature, but also anthropogenic impact. Now the influence of man can wipe off the face of the earth this unusual place. Making, at first glance, a simple and harmless action, tourists cause damage to the most unusual sight of the Primorsky Territory, the directorate said.

Tourist information center of Primorye (Visit Primorye) is currently preparing an information stand, where information about the bay itself will also be posted in several languages: geographical features, toponymy, history of the formation of the beach, data on local flora and fauna, neighboring locations. The tourism industry plans to hold a Saturday in the near future here with the involvement of not only company employees, but also tourists, social activists, representatives of administrative structures, the media.

Any tourism, whether it is mass or individual, wild or organized, in any case, should be cultural, aimed at preserving the natural environment. Information warning boards, like the one recently installed on the shore of the bay, are not about imminent punishment and penalties, but about respect for nature. They are not limited to a single location. Now tour operators form a list of places that are points of attraction for guests of the city and where cases of destructive behavior of tourists have already been recorded. We will also inform guests about the rules and culture of behavior there, explained Olga Gurevich, Director of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).
