In Vladivostok, the oars were scratched

The season of rowing on “dragons” in Vladivostok can be considered open. Although those who prefer this sport did not close it.

Rowing on "dragons" is not only a sport of high achievements, it is also a mass hobby in Vladivostok. And it gradually fits into tourism. Everyone gets a cocktail of fresh air, mood and introduction to healthy lifestyle. The season started on April 29 at Sanatorium. "Dragons of the East" on this occasion raised the flag. 

"Rowing on "dragons" is not only a sport, it is also a tourist attraction, a small distance along the coast makes it possible to feel excitement, relax, learn something new about this type of rowing. Tourists are taken to us, including children’s groups, such seaside companies as Vostok Intour, Ajax. Not as big as I’d like, but it’s a start. We also have foreigners: guys from Laos, China, Angola. These are students of the Institute of Pedagogy and Linguistics of VVSU, everyone is delighted, says the head of the Dragons of the East rowing school, a member of the Primorsky Krai Rowing Federation Andrei Khomenko. 

Usually, teapots sit on the paddle as part of such a sports and entertainment tour. In the program - the history of "dragons", warm-up and master class. And then on the water: the boat is not just tourists, but a team. The feeling of the shoulder – this also comes on the water. And if the first strokes are different, then there is coherence and rhythm.

"Come from Ussuriysk. On purpose. This year we have our first such trip. I came here seven times a year ago. So we're not really teapots anymore. In summer it is especially good – the sea, warmth, fresh air. The mood rises from the first minute. Warm up by age, everything is organized perfectly. Nature is wonderful, we like to row, and how much health is added! We are looking forward to the next trip. We tell our friends, neighbors, someone attracted to our ranks lovers of rowing, healthy lifestyle and such trips. Which, by the way, are very budgetary, says Valentina Yermak from Ussuriysk.

Ahead of several events where rowers on "dragons" will come to the distance. Among the iconic and official: the celebration of the Day of Youth (the embankment of the Sports Harbor) and the open cup of the Governor of Primorye (in July – on the Oz). Youth in Vladivostok, in September - for professionals with the participation of international teams in Lozovoy. By the way, this year the Governor's Cup in rowing celebrates its 20th anniversary. But “Dragons of the East” to popularize this sport, to promote the tourist and sports potential of Vladivostok, conduct their internal events, such as “Wind Festival”, “Samovar Festival”, etc.
