In Vladivostok completed training for the second set of volunteers of the project Striped Navigator

In 2024, the project turned five years old, and every year the number of people willing to participate in this volunteer program increases.

The launch of the anniversary stream of the “Striped Patrol” will begin this week and it will be a kind of gift for the city’s birthday. Volunteers will go on routes and will help to create a safe and comfortable holiday for guests and residents of the Far Eastern capital, to ensure a comfortable acquaintance with Vladivostok.

Training of volunteers took place at UIA Youth Resource Center for a month. During the classes, the speakers were representatives of the Department for Youth Affairs of Vladivostok, the excursion bureau “All Primorye” and the tourist police – a specialized platoon of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Vladivostok. Each of them not only spoke about the peculiarities of their activities in tourism, but also revealed the possibilities of interaction with the project volunteers. Our task is to help volunteers on the eve of the start of active walks and acquaintance with the city. In training, we try to include different areas of interaction in tourism. We will start the season in July and plan to work tentatively until mid-September, explained Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist and Information Center of the Primorsky Territory.

On Thursday, June 27, all participants were awarded certificates of successful completion of the course. It is a hot time and Vladivostok is waiting for many guests. So the practice of volunteers will have not only for the anniversary project “Striped Navigator”, but also for the hot season. In connection with the appearance in the city of new places of tourist display and points of attraction of tourists, it is planned to expand patrol routes. The project is informative and interesting, especially for those who are interested in tourism and perhaps want to connect their lives with it. I really want it to be attended by children who in the future plan to enter universities and choose as a future profession specialty related to tourism, – said after training participant of the second stream, teacher of English MBEU SOS No 2 Alena Nikulina.

We recall, the first stream of training of “striped” volunteers took place in February 2024. Then the participants of the course were 25 people. The training took place at the VVSU base.

On the project: the tourist-volunteer project Striped Navigator is a city mobile service that was launched in 2019 to create a comfortable information environment for residents and guests of the city.
