Volunteers are invited to participate in the new season of Striped Navigator

" We are excited to start the new season of our favorite project. This year, the decision was made to start the walking season a month earlier as our region prepares to host even more visitors. Before the start of the project, we plan to have time to hold mini-lectures on local history and communication with our volunteers in order to have time to prepare “striped navigators” for work in the season. Our task for this season is not just to help tourists fall in love with our city, but also to try to make them have a strong interest to come back here again, said Anastasia Povetkina, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Information Department of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye).

About the project: the tourist-volunteer project Striped Navigator is the author's project of the Tourist Information Center of the Primorsky Territory (Visit Primorye), which was launched in the region in 2019 with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorsky Territory. Last year, the fifth anniversary season of the project was held, which helped more than 2,000 tourists and local residents. Volunteers run on routes from July to September, at the height of the tourist season. Among the tourists there were a large number of foreign guests who not only took maps of the city, but also with great pleasure took memorable photos with bright “striped” volunteers as a souvenir. Partners of the project are the Primorsky regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society - the Society for the Study of the Amur Region, the Department for Youth Affairs of the city of Vladivostok, a specialized platoon of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Vladivostok (tourist police), regional tour operators, the State United Museum-Reserve of the Far East named after V.K. Arsenyev.
