Picturesque bays of the Sea of Japan entered the top 5 among Russian tourists

The MTS Travel hotel reservation service based on the impersonal Big Data MTS analyzed the popularity of the seas washing Russia among travelers in 2023.
It turned out that every tenth trip around the country included a visit to the sea coast. The Sea of Japan is among the five most popular seas among Russian tourists. According to the hotel reservation service MTS Travel, the tourist flow to the picturesque beaches of Primorsky Krai in 2023 increased by 5.25% compared to 2022. In general, every twentieth tourist trip is made to the Sea of Japan. More than a third of tourists (34%) go to the seaside beaches from the Khabarovsk Territory, in second place guests from the Amur region - their 13%, and close the three Muscovites - 10%. In second place is the Baltic Sea with a share of 21%. The third place was divided between the Azov and Caspian seas (8% of all trips to the seas in 2023). At the same time, the popularity of the Barents Sea, washing the shores of the Murmansk region, grew most strongly in 2023 - one and a half times compared to 2022. On the harsh north coast, tourists are attracted by the opportunity to see whales and the Northern Lights. The Caspian Sea is in second place in terms of tourist flow growth – the dynamics of trips to it is 20% year-on-year. At the same time, among all trips to the Caspian Sea, 91% were on the coast in Dagestan. The Sea of Okhotsk, washing the shores of Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Khabarovsk Territory and Magadan Region, is in third place in terms of popularity growth.
The popularity of the Primorsky Territory among tourists is growing every year, and most tourists are attracted by the picturesque bays of the Sea of Japan. To ensure that both tourists and locals can comfortably use the most modern services of the MTS digital ecosystem, we traditionally expand the coverage area and accelerate the Internet in popular tourist locations. So, the connection of the “fourth generation” covered most of the bays on the coast of Primorye: Triozero, Perch, Calm, Vityaz, Boysman, Ore, Trinity and others.
