Turning Lighthouse

The lighthouse is located northeast of Cape Povorotny and bears its name.
Just a few hours by car from Vladivostok, and you get to a unique place: here the ships turn north, here on the horizon just 22 kilometers passes the state border, here over the horizon Japan. Travel by boat to the cape and lighthouse is possible only in compliance with the border regime. The wave coming from the open sea, crashes with noise on the rocks, here you can feel the power of the ocean element. Vessels and ships try to keep at a great distance from the cape, sharp stone ridges are fraught with danger to seafarers.
The lighthouse is installed at an altitude of 58.5 meters above sea level. Its construction began in the summer of 1890, it began to operate in 1892.
The lighthouse is administered by the Hydrographic Service of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation and provides navigation of ships in a difficult for navigation area at the entrance to Peter the Great Bay.
