The memorial ensemble, located on Svetlanskaya Street under the Golden Bridge, perpetuates the memory of merchant mariners who died during the Great Patriotic War. This port became a key defense port, and 25 ships were sunk, killing more than 300 Far Eastern sailors. The monument, unveiled in November 1967, depicts three sailors symbolizing the crews who did not surrender to the enemy. The eternal flame is lit on the days of celebration of the Victory and other memorable dates.
